This book introduces the wonderfully pink world of contemporary culture, bringing together the female creativity that surrounds the idea of Pink Attitude, expressed through pages with a slightly retro graphic style. Pink Attitude is a way of living, perceiving, speaking, moving and thinking. Irony, sometimes dark and sometimes sarcastic, lies at the heart of this intellectual attitude.

A carefully curated selection of 23 women artists and designers from around the world use their talent and sensitivity to tell stories of life and dreams, waiting to be discovered in every image. These workers of the postmodern age draw on vintage cartoons, explore baroque modernism through simple, immediate lines, or blend painting and illustration. Together, they represent some of the most distinctive voices in surrealism.

Love and death, romance and decadence, eroticism and childlike innocence, pink and black, good and evil: these striking yet closely connected contrasts define the boundaries of this new way of thinking. To imagine a “Pink Attitude” setting, picture the slightly kitsch, extravagant, yet always glamorous aesthetic of a Hollywood party meeting a teenager’s bedroom: a vivid blend of Hello Kitty and Marilyn Monroe.

Pink Attitude mixes seductive sweetness with bold sexuality. It brings together romantic hearts dripping with blood and macabre human skulls transformed into playful toys. Ancient archetypes are reimagined in vivid colours. Gothic princesses become assassins and fearless warriors. Women become men and vice versa, in a continuous interplay of beauty and ugliness, love and hate. The aim is to move beyond visual, artistic and cultural boundaries to create a new aesthetic perspective.
